CASE STUDY - AUTOMATED
DEMUCKING SYSTEM
Subject:
Coal Mine Site LV Demucking System
Background – Aqua Energy Group working in partnership
with the mining sector a turnkey installation for a Demucking
System for Light Vehicles was adopted. Using this system,
the mine site can have vehicles cleaned using the automated wash
system in minutes, not hours as previously encountered
ensuring either maintenance functions can be performed in a
timely manner or able to leave site clean and roadworthy, in
lieu of multiple hours when needing to hand wash each vehicle.
Supplied Equipment – The customised closed loop recycling demucking solution is in three parts. The initial truck washing cycle allows for the demucking of heavily soiled light vehicles while the operator remains in the machine. This is followed by a freshwater rinse cycle while traversing across a drip tray, allowing the vehicle to leave the system without dragging large amounts of water with it. The recycle tank utilises a
biodegradable flocculant additive to assist in settling the solids
out of the water allowing for ease of maintenance with existing
plant.
Future Options – Operation of the system can also be
modified from opto-sensor to magnetic sensor to remote
control depending on the site specifics. Various vehicle model
washes can be programmed to match timing and wash
requirements for the site including the integration of specialised truck wash bay systems to accommodate larger vehicles.
Return on Investment – Efficient maintenance of mine light
vehicles occurs when the vehicle arrives at the workshop free
of spoil, especially around wheel arches, braking and steering
systems. Maintenance functions can then be performed to
schedule
